How Amazon FBA Fees Work in 2026
When you sell on Amazon FBA, three main fees come out of every sale: the referral fee (a percentage Amazon takes for using their marketplace), the fulfillment fee (a flat fee for picking, packing, and shipping), and storage fees (charged monthly for warehouse space). Your actual profit is what's left after all three.
1. Referral Fee
This is a percentage of the sale price. Most categories charge 15%, but a few are different:
| Category | Referral fee |
|---|---|
| Most categories | 15% |
| Electronics / Computers | 8% (over $100, 15%) |
| Clothing / Accessories | 17% |
| Jewelry (under $250) | 20% |
| Watches | 16% |
| Books | 15% + $1.80 closing fee |
| Health/Beauty/Grocery under $10/$15 | 8% |
2. FBA Fulfillment Fee
Amazon charges a flat fee per unit shipped based on size and weight. Standard-size items cost less; oversize costs more.
- Small Standard (โค16 oz): ~$3.86
- Large Standard (1-2 lbs): ~$5.61
- Large Standard (2-4 lbs): ~$7.85
- Small Oversize: ~$9.96
- Medium Oversize: ~$13.50
- Large Oversize: ~$79.92+
3. Storage Fees
Amazon charges $0.87/cu ft JanโSep and $2.40/cu ft OctโDec for standard size. For most products, this works out to $0.10โ$0.50 per unit per month, which is what we use as a reasonable default.
